Message from the Director
The Early Childhood Program operates under the auspices of the Yeshivah of Flatbush Lower Division.

Message from Debbie Levine Greenbaum
Director, Early Childhood

As an Early Childhood professional, it is my belief that an Early Childhood program should be exciting, innovative, hands on and engaging. Children in preschool should be offered the opportunity to discover, explore, experience and understand the world around them. Using a developmentally age-appropriate curriculum with a constructivist approach, the students are challenged daily to be risk-taking learners, in a warm, supportive environment.

At the Yeshivah of Flatbush we strive for the optimum. In the Early Childhood Department our program is full of many inventive, stimulating, concrete activities that enable the accomplishment of our integrated Judaic-secular curriculum. We are the first to plant the seeds for a dedication to a life of Torah and Mitzvot. We promote a commitment to Zionism and the State of Israel, a love of the Hebrew language, and the determination to be an integral part of the Jewish and secular communities we live in. The synthesis of these ideologies will help mold the character of the future Yeshivah of Flatbush graduate. We are unparalleled in our goals and in our achievement.

We view parents as partners in this endeavor. I, as well as my faculty, work together with parents to help facilitate an environment that promotes learning and caring. I encourage the faculty as well as the parent body to express their ideas, concerns and opinions as we work together for the betterment of "our" children.

As the Early Childhood Director, I offer, along with my faculty, an appropriately structured and supportive learning environment that enables children to learn in ways they learn best. We recognize that each child is unique and must have opportunities for learning experiences that complement his or her own level of development and style. Using the Multiple Intelligence approach along with Differentiated Instruction, an eclectic approach, the faculty enables every child to feel successful and challenged. We strive to recognize each child's strengths and abilities as we implement the multifaceted curriculum.
